Open Question: Can the insurance company sue us after house fire was concluded accidental and inconclusive?
Hello, we were victims of a house fire that had happened in January. Now my renters insurance is suing my fiancee for the amount they had given me. The main fire marshall of the township ruled the house accidental and inconclusive on what had caused the house fire.
Can they get away with suing us?
This is absolutely ridiculous. The insurance companies “fire investigator” never showed up and got his “facts” from the other insurance company. And is saying that the cause of the fire was completely my fiancee’s fault and that he “purposely” burnt down the house?????
We really need a REAL answer; I think this is completely insane.

Open Question: My doctor wants to drug test me?? help?
Okay, so here is my background info, i am perscribed to Klonopin, for stress, and was recently taken off of percocet for multi-level degenerative disk disease. My doctor ( and i live in Tennessee, don’t know how laws differ from state to state) wants to drug test me and i have no idea why, other that to check my medication levels in my body since some people do abuse klonopin. However, I smoke pot, and i am not going to stop for this new doctor, or anyone else for that matter until I have children. I am a college student who works 50+ hours a week on top of school, and i don’t drink. If i want to smoke a little every now and then the world will not come to an end. I don’t want a failed drug test filed on my insurance, and i cant have her take me off my klonopin, i have heard i will have a seizure, since i have been on it two years. I don’t see why she cant just test for benzo levels and leave it at that. I go to the doctor in less than an hour, and i would like to know how to openly, and honestly discuss what i told you all, and just explain to my doctor that i am an american, and i have rights that i will not let her infringe for the benefit of her practice. I will opt for her to check my klonopin levels, and that is all. is this reasonable, and will she try to stop my klonopin perscription, and if so, what do i tell her to avoid this? by the way guys, i am a very responsible individual, i just don’t want to get removed from klonopin, or i will probably get fired from a wonderful job due to panick attacks, and high stress levels causing me to be a bit**
okay rude people. I am not addicted to klonopin, i have a PRN (if the people calling me an addict are even smart enough to know what that is) perscription. which means i do not take this drug on a daily basis, so lay off the rude remarks
Open Question: UK Home insurance – Will home insurance cover if the house does not comply to LATEST building control regs?
We are about to buy a house which has a loft conversion done 10 years ago. The loft conversion does not comply with the latest Building Control Regulation – Section B – Fire Safety – Mean of Escape.
It is already proved by the council that nothing is enforceable now because the conversion was the done 10 years ago.
However, i just want to ask about the home insurance problem.
Do we need to comply with the latest building control regulation in order to buy home insurance?
If not, will the insurance company pay for the damage in case of a fire? Will the home insurance be more expensive because of it? Will insurance company send someone to inspect the house before quoting the price?
