Open Question: Insurance claim for home badly fire damaged. Does owner get replacement value, or only mortgage paid off?
Say your house is really badly fire damaged. Will you likely get the replacement value in an insurance claim (assuming the house is a write off) or would you get only the amount to cover the mortgage that you just started paying on recently. NOTE: replacement value could be A LOT more than the amount paid for the house.

Open Question: Does my home contents insurance cover my mobile phone?
My phone has water damage and has totally died. Ive only had it 5 weeks out of a 2yr contract. Vodafone wont replace it as I apparently dont have insurance on it, which i thought i did. It would appear that was overlooked when I got it. Can I claim for it on my home contents insurance…I am with Direct Line Insurance. Also, will they cover it for water damage? I wouldnt normally bother with a claim for a mobile but it’s worth £400 and I cant possibly replace it.
