Resolved Question: Has the new ‘health care’ reform effected your family yet?
Its hit home in mine, I have a family member who works for a small trucking company. He was informed yesterday that they will now be offered insurance, their portion of the payment to start with will be $100.00 per pay period. He makes $10.00 an hour, or $400.00 per week before taxes for his family of three. Now he’s down to less than $300.00 per week take home, or you could say he’s lost 25% of his family’s income in one week. His policy has a $500.00 per person deductible and a 20% co pay. So soon he will have insurance that he can’t afford, and he can’t afford to use if he needs to. And this was supposed to help him out? Can anyone please explain that? Does anyone really believe that any subsidy that MAY come from the Gov will replace the $5200.00 per year this is now gonna cost him and his family?
Open Question: Budget question, I bring home 650/week?
I gross 53400. I have 100 taken out each week for flex spending and to cover my cost of my medical deductible. I also have 50 taken out each week for a loan that is almost paid off.My question is this:is there a website that would show how much I should be spending on housing, electricity, etc based on my income? I really don’t have that much extra, after paying electricity, gas, water, phone bill, internet and car insurance. I have no car payments nor credit card payments. I rent, not own.Any help or direction would be great. Thanks
