Open Question: Problems with quoted rate of Florida Sunshine Insurance Co.?
As a 1st time Florida home buyer, I was quoted a certain annual rate by my insurance agent for homeowner’s insurance by this company so I paid the total annual premium upfront. After closing ,and my monthly house payment setup using the quoted and paid rate for the insurance escrow, the insurance company sends me a bill for $270 more dollars. When I contacted my ins. agent, he said he was sorry, that the insurance company site had quoted him the rate for a different territory, even tho he had of course, put the house correct address info to their site for the initial policy quote. Now I see that this same company was sited by the FL Insurance Commission in 2004 for doing the exact same thing.What is my recourse?
Open Question: Is progressive a decent car insurance company?
I am 21 years old attending college 3 days a week working part time making $7.25 an hour. today i got my car insurance bill for next 6 months and it came to $582 if paid in full or $667 if paid over time. this is from farmers insurance btw. i compared that to identical coverage on progressive which was quoted as $366 per 6 months. i work 5 minutes from home so shouldn’ t have an accident on the way there. i maybe go out once a week to see a move about 10 minutes away. i am kind of wondering if it’s worth switching i’ve never been in an accident and don’t intend to start. i don’t want to throw my money away on insurance which as far as i am concerned is a scam

My agent gave me a quote today that seems to far off base to me that I cant even make sense of it. She quoted me 900 to 1,100 per year for a 2005 Harley Road King Classic. I am 37 years old and I have 2 other cars, a trailer and home owners through them and I’m not even sure I am paying that much. She sounded new to me, but they know I am a current customer, so what gives?
