Open Question: Does anyone know of an inpatient PTSD program in the Pacific Northwest that accepts Medicaid?
I have severe PTSD, related to medical malpractice and product liability. I live in Idaho and there are no lawyers who will take my case, as they all work for the big companies, not the victims. Believe me I’ve tried to find one.

I am seeing a psychiatrist who says that I need intensive outpatient or inpatient care immediately, if I am to recover. I tried a counselor who told me to just forget about it and get on with my life, and not to talk to anyone about it, even though it is all I can think about. That didn’t work, and ended up with me having to move out of my house into a small camp trailer.

I do not need drug addiction treatment and am not an alcoholic, nor am I a Christian. I simply need someplace that deals with PTSD. I found a perfect place outside of Seattle, but they don’t accept my insurance, and I am disabled and cannot afford the $30,000 price tag. I am on a limited disability income and have Medicare. Few doctors will even see me for anything, much less mental illness.

There is nothing available locally, that I can find. I am unable to leave my home due to severe flashbacks, crying, overreaction to small things, such as sounds and smells, and black out episodes. I don’t drive, and am currently bedridden, since last October, due to multiple medical conditions, only one which is related to the PTSD incident. I need physical therapy, and other treatments, but am unable to get them due to my terror of medical situations, and other triggering situations. but cannot get treatment because of the PTSD.

I am allergic to SSRI’s, and any other drugs that are commonly used to treat PTSD, as well as many other medications. I need intensive therapy because I am unable to take the medications. My life has become hopeless. I am not normally depressed, yet I cannot do even simple things now, like eat, dress, watch TV or read a book. I enjoy nothing that I used to enjoy before, even while so disabled by my physical condition.

Every out of state victims lawyer I’ve talked to says I have an excellent case, but there are no lawyers who can help me here. I cannot sue.

Even the hospital freely admits the incident was horrific.

Unfortunately, it involves a big name medical device manufacturer, and they have assaulted me twice in person, so talking to them is impossible.

Is it possible to hire a publicist, or victims advocate for a reasonable sum to help me get the treatment I need? If so, can someone point me in the right direction?

Please, this is not a joke, so I ask that people give reasonable answers. Thank you very much.

Resolved Question: How can I make an extra $50 (or more) per week from home or with my kids in tow?
I would like to help out with the household bills. However, if I return to work full-time, after taxes, child care and gas alone I will be left with a ‘profit’ of about $60 per week. I’m not sure the extra $200 and change justifies putting my 2 kids in daycare 50 hours per week.

It seems that the most common option is to watch other kids in your home. However, there are at least 8 other ‘home daycares’ in my area (in a small town). I’m not sure I would get a response (even though I have prior work experience with children as well as my own). I also cannot get past the fact that I would not have liability insurance to cover myself if something were to happen (or be accused of happening) to one of the children in my care. If I were to pay for insurance and other fees it wouldn’t really be worth the money I’d be bringing in to watch another child or two, in my opinion.

So what are some other options? Or to those with home daycares: any tips?

Please don’t suggest selling on eBay. I am looking for a somewhat ‘steady’ income and I’m not sure of any specific niches that would make money consistently through eBay or other online auctions. I’m highly familiar with eBay and considered selling other people’s belongings but would have no place to store the items while they were being sold.

And there are LOADS of women around here who sell Avon or Mary Kay.

I’m hoping to find something that I can do inside or outside of my home – either with the kids around me during the daytime or at night after they are in bed (from 9-11pm).
