Voting Question: Can the executor of a will, act as a landlord and through the person out who resides in the Decedents Estate?
To make a long story short: A grandmother and her son resided in a house together, whenever she passed away in her will she left the house to the ALL 10 heirs (4 children & 6 grandchildren) One of the children had resides with her all his life and still remains in the house. The executor of the will is one of her grandchildren (and since this has happened has been on a power trip) going into the house whenever she feels necessary and taking whatever she feels she should have.. Recently the homeowners insurance policy that was placed under the grandmother name had lapsed; the executor decided to renew the policy and billed the person remaining in the household. She then told him that if he doesnt pay the 700 for the homeowners she will kick him out. The house was left in to all 10 therefore if the house is sold all 10 get a share… shouldn’t it be that all 10 would have to pay for the homeowners insurance since they have a stake in it. (The situation is seems so complicated and I haven’t been able to find any good answers online) This is in Pennsylvania. Any suggestion would greatly be appreciated.
The Deed to the house has not been changed, it is still in the grandmothers name. The Will does state that the son is allowed to stay in the house.
