Open Question: Geico Home Insurance: How can I find out its insurance rating?
I’m thinking of switching from a known — State Farm — to Geico for my homeowners coverage. The cost is literally 1/3rd less with better coverage. However, I can’t google a rating for Geico’s strength. Anyone know how to find it?
Would Geico Homeowner Insurance be the same as Geico Car Insurance (allegedly A++)? Same company, after all . . .

Interestingly, ConsumerReports.org, to which I subscribe, did not even list Geico as a homeowner insurance company in its September 2009 edition. Gave me pause to reconsider . . .

Resolved Question: Does anyone know for what reason an insurance company would ask if a couple is “formally engaged”?
Are there any insurance agents out there who can answer this for me? If you’re a man and a woman living in the same house and you already have insurance together – homeowners and auto – but you’re searching for a better rate, what would be the reason an insurance company would ask you this question, “Are you formally engaged”?? What I’m wondering is – (1) What constitutes “formally” engaged? I mean, there is no LEGAL definition of such a thing, correct? AND (2) Why is the answer (to an already subjective question) impactful on insurance?
Oops – obviously the couple is not married.
To “Husnain” – PLEASE stop trying to get free advertising by answering all your questions with websites. Nobody’s fooled. And – NO – you DID NOT help me.
I guess it just seems silly – that it would mean more if he had asked, “Are you getting married soon because we can give you a discounted rate as a married couple.” Asking, “Are you formally engaged?” just seems like a silly way to word the question.
