Open Question: Hit by an Uninsured Driver!?
Ok, on Monday Feb. 23rd 2009, I was out of town on Vacation, I lent my girlfriend my car while I was out, she is 25 and had full permission to use the vehicle(2008 civic coupe)
She was at a local applebees restaurant parked when a ford f-150 reversed into her causing severe damage to my door.
Now I have full coverage all state insurance. The young man the struck my car stated at the time he had insurance but as he just bought the vehicle, the insurance is still under the previous owners name. The police were called, but since this was on private property and there were no injuries they refused to go to the scene.
I have since got an estimate for $1374.95 worth in repairs. I have contacted the young man and he is not returning my calls, nor my text messages. The day of the accident he called me and explained that he would rather pay out of pocket and not get the insurance companies involved…
Now that im stuck with this bill, what should I do?
Open Question: How much money should my spouse contribute to household?
I owned the house we in live in free and clear before we married. How do I decide how much he should contribute? I think he should pay an amount equal to what I could rent out a room for or what he would pay for a small apt. Plus I think he should also pay half the utilities etc. He thinks he should only have to pay half the utilities and food etc. since I don’t have any mortgage to pay. But I do have house insurance and property taxes which are over $7000 a year. He enjoys having a nice house but objects to paying to live here. He will say “I didn’t want this big house, you did.” We live in Boca Raton, Florida and all I get is $600 a month including food. What do you think?

So I am wondering whether anyone has claimed on Buildings insurance for the assessing, tracing, locating (Digging) and repair of said leak? As I understand my buildings cover should cover this (excess payable).
Not sure where the leak is having only found out we have a leak (Stopped mains and dial is spinning away plus we have used an unreasonable amount of water in a very short space of time) We do know its between meter and the internal stop ****. But thats 3 different rooms and a driveway in between! So somewhere along the line….theres a leak.
Also anyone else who has had this problem….how was the pipe repaired and did they dig internal floors and the driveway up to fix?
Any info (Sensible) would be most appreciated. I have turned all water off at the meter now to stop another load of water seeping off somewhere…
