Resolved Question: How can I convince my parents to let us get a trampoline.?
I honestly believe that me and my older sis deserve it. (We’re 14 and 15 btw) We’re both responsible and we get good grades. We don’t skip sport practices and we keep our rooms clean, plus we clean other parts of the house.
ok, so our backyard is perfect for a trampoline. It’s big and flat and the garage shades where it would go.
My sis and I would pay for it ourselves. We found a good one for $300 and we have enough money between us. We obviously couldn’t cover the insurance, though because babysitting pays $4 an hour where we live.
We asked my dad when he was in a good mood and he said no. I asked why and explained why we should get one and so on but he was like “When you can find an insurance agency that will cover a family with a trampoline then come back and tell me.
So I was like, “well I’m sure there are plenty of insurance groups who do because lots of people have trampolines.
He also said that we would need $2 million umbrella coverage in case some idiot used it and broke their neck and sued us or we had to support them or something.
Me and my sister thought about this beforehand. When we were done jumping, we could just move it into our garage. (We have a three car garage and one car) Then no one can come use it when we’re not home or anything. btw we’re strong so don’t spaz.
And I’m sure he’s not worried about us getting hurt. We’re both athletic and can take a fall, not saying we won’t be careful, though.
He keeps saying no. Do you think he’s being unreasonable?
Oh and we can’t ask our mom because she always just says what my dad says because she doesn’t have a mind of her own.
Please please help!

Voting Question: Is a primary residence protected in NY State if you are sued for personal liability?
I’m looking into the levels of liability insurance for my home and auto and am trying to see if I need an umbrella policy. My biggest asset is my home. I heard that if I were sued, my home could not be taken from me as long as I’m living there so I may not need to insure the value of the home. Anyone know if this is true?
