Open Question: baby shower for a second baby?
My daughter is 16 months old. She will be 19 months when I have my second baby. I am hopeing I dont get any baby showers. I am having another girl and I just dont like the idea of getting a shower since I am having the same gender. I dont mind celebrating but I dont want people to go out and get me a preasent (typical of a baby shower) If your children are under 2 years apart and had the same gender did you get a baby shower? was it ackward?
I have been saving all of my daughters things. I have things in the closet that never got worn, are too small but they still have the tag on. i know I wont be having anymore children after this (for at least 4-5 years) i know this isnt really a question just figured what you would do in my situation.
I already know what things I do need to purchase, but if you can give me an idea of other things you think i might need.

an umbrella stroller (I already have a chico travel system, or I would like to get one of those cool strollers I can with both children at the same time)
a sling
breast pump (i work full time, last time i used a manual pump and it took too long, i looked in to renting one from the hospital, waiting to see if they work with my insurance, but if you can get me any tips on getting an affordable one)
If anyone suggest to just register for the items I need, well I am soooo Mexican I dont think my relatives really know what a registry is LOL (they didnt pay attention to the registry I had with my daughter LOL)

Resolved Question: increase liability insurance?
I recently turned in my plates on my car and will have no insurance .My daughter who lives with me will add me to her policy for my use of one of her two cars . Her policy coverage is as follows, $100,000 insurance liability, each person $300,000 each occurrence.
Which would be the best cost effective method to protect assets ? .(1) Increase her liability to a $1,000,000 (2) Get a non owners policy (3) Perhaps get an umbrella insurance starting at the amount her liability ends ? Or must an umbrella policy be based on a basic car ins policy in my name .

According to The Inland North County Times (April 22, 2009), El Grupo, an umbrella group of civil rights organizations, held a press conference to call on the city of Escondido to replace its police chief because his policies, especially his department’s frequent use of driver’s license checkpoints, have created an atmosphere of fear in the community.
At the press conference, a woman said her sister was arrested at a checkpoint and turned over to immigration authorities.
“I don’t think what the police are doing is right,” said the woman, who, according to the Times, did not want her name published because she said she has other family members in the country illegally, including two of her sister’s four children.
Who cares what she thinks? If she doesn’t like the way we enforce our laws, she can go back to Mexico. Last year, an illegal immigrant without auto insurance hit my car. An attorney’s only advice was that I buy “no fault”insurance next time. According to her, the police wouldn’t even arrest her, let alone get her deported.
What a sense of entitlement these people have to think they ought to call the shots. They don’t respect our laws or our flag. Many get involved in crime and gangs.
If we’re a nation of racists, we wouldn’t have 12 million+ illegals here. We wouldn’t have a black president. Online, blacks are against illegal immigration because illegals turn Compton’s working class neighborhoods into slums. Vietnamese are against iillegals because some say they almost died coming here by boat. Why should illegals get an easy path? There is even a Latino group based in Santa Ana who opposes illegal immgration because illegals drive wages down.
This is not a conflict between white people and people of color. This is about protecting our citizens of every color from law breakers. I support the Escondido police chief and the check points. I support America.
