my husband has been charged with battery of my daughter and we are going to file for divorce. we’ve been together for 4 years but married for only 1. i know i won’t get to keep the insurance or anything, but how will the process of separation and divorce work, can he make me leave the home (we live on post) before we’re divorced and how long do we need to be separated before the divorce. we live in virginia and he will probably want to get the divorce in dc. my kids don’t belong to him and will he have to help me after the divorce?

Back in October of 03, at the time I was 18. I brought a car from a rinky dink car dealership dealership down the road from my house. I was told that the car was protected under insurance from the dealership for 60 days. I was in an accident in Nov, of the same year. One month after I brought the car. The wreck was not my fault, as someone on the road decided to play chicken with me. And to not hit the person I swerved to miss him. I ended up flipping the car. And the place I got the car from would not cover the car. So in turn I did not pay for the car because they lied to me, and they knew it. By saying “Well we didn’t think that you’d crash the car. This was back in Nov of 03. I have not heard from them since, but the car is on my credit report. I am trying to buy a home now and this is hindering me. So… I guess they got the last laugh.
The car was only $3,000 when i brought it, but now I believe that its in the $7,000 range. I would have kept paying for the car, but they lied and at 18 I didn’t make that much money so I didn’t…
I would like to know if they can still come after me after all this time? And what is the statute of limitations to just let this drop off? I’ve heard 7 years but I have also heard of 5 in Virginia. So I don’t know which is right. Can anyone help?
No it was insurance, they even told me after the accident, but they said they would not cover it. But I would like to know if it will fall off this year?
Voting Question: I am relocating to my home state of Georgia so I will be switching states to draw my unemployment benefits.?
I was in the Navy and I always paid Georgia taxes but I resided in Virginia because of my homeport was located there. I have been receiving unemployment for about 3 and a half months now in Virginia and I will be relocating back to Georgia. I know I will have to change my unemployment insurance benefit location to Georgia and reclaim so I would like to know does the 6 month ticker start over or not. Also I am a full time college student.

Thanks for your help but you are reading stuff that I did not put inside of the description. I didnt leave the Navy voluntarily and it didn’t say that anywhere inside of my question. The only reason I am coming off with an attitude is because I am asking for an answer to a question when all I am getting is negative criticism on information that isn’t valid. You are trying to make it seem as if I am cheating the state and thats almost impossible to do when you have to submit a DD-214 to file for UI and it states everything the state will need to know. I am no scam artist or no way as uneducated as you are trying to make me sound. I reside in Virginia so this is where I draw for UI and don’t bite my head off because I PRESENTED MY SITUATION TO THE EMPLOYMENT COMMISSION AND THIS IS WHAT “THEY” CAME UP WITH!!!
